The Arrival of the Sun

The Arrival of the Sun

Sane were we at birth
with our sense around
our neck on our way to
the alphabeta that should
show us the way. Did it?

As we continue to germinate,
the sanity kept diminishing as
we behold the success of those
without sense. Our large mouths
scorned us with huge laughter.

Now that our legs could barely
walk us through life’s labyrinth
we await the arrival of the sun
before we let go of the baton
we collected with pleasant deceit.
