See Our Fate

See Our Fate

While the lion remained quiet,
the cat continued roaring rudely
to complain of the foxes’ hunting
and the chickens speak in a strange
Cuckoo bird tone that deafens the ears.

Alcohol flows like ocean in our streets
but water had been exiled into the abyss
It cost a fortune to get an health card
whereas SIM card is distributed freely.

Our roads gift us death on a daily basis
while theirs only come via faulty parts
As we inherit ignorance from ivory tower
their wards embrace wisdom from abroad.

The elephants engaged in battle
just to make us: the grasses suffer
Where we were before where we are
is what should sting some sense in us.
