Secure Your Line
To: Moshood Adebayo
Though your feet have only
Trod the land that breastfed you
Your wits have crossed seas and
Climbed mountains to fetch you dignity
Thus making it real that a prophet gets
Looked down upon amongst its brethren.
When your father answered your call
Genius was the one who called with
A secured line without Cupid’s knowledge
You grew to trod the path that fed the
Muse: the first wife of Genius whose
Benevolence had made us drink you to stupor.
Now it’s the time for you to pick your call
And secure it for posterity to drink
From your winery the finest wine
You can’t feed and wouldn’t want your
Seeds feed generation in their lifetime.
May the gods call you from a secured line!
